High-purity alumina (aluminium oxide, Al₂O₃) built for process reliability

Baikalox® high purity alumina is a portfolio of engineered aluminum oxide powders and formulated solutions designed for high-value applications in technical ceramics and precision polishing.

Whether your priority is densification, surface finish, microstructure control, or throughput stability, our approach is to provide the alumina form—and the level of control—best aligned with your process conditions.

Choose your crystalline phase and format

Depending on your end-use, you can select α-alumina (alpha) and/or γ-alumina (gamma) grades, available in multiple formats, such as:

  • Unground powders for controlled surface area and porosity management
  • Milled / deagglomerated powders to target dispersion and reactivity
  • CMA® (Controlled Morphology Alumina) in defined particle shapes to support packing and flow behavior
  • Spray-dried granules (optionally with binder) to improve flowability and die filling
  • Ready-to-use slurries with controlled PSD and formulation parameters
  • Ready-to-press (RTP) alumina to streamline your pressing route

Why engineers choose Baikowski® High Purity Aluminium Oxides

  • Tailored PSD, specific surface area, morphology, and phase composition
  • Formats designed to reduce variability in mixing, dispersion, pressing, and finishing steps
  • Strong application support, including customization and ready-to-use / RTP know-how

Typical application areas

Technical structural ceramics, thermal management and filtration ceramics, bioceramics, transparent/translucent ceramics, Ox/Ox CMCs, and polishing/CMP-related processes.

FAQ – Alumina and aluminum oxide

Q- What is the difference between alumina and aluminum oxide?

A- They refer to the same material: alumina is the industrial term for aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃).

Q- What is the difference between alpha and gamma alumina?

A- They are different crystalline phases of Al₂O₃, selected based on the targeted processing route and properties.

Q- Do you offer aluminum oxide as slurry or spray-dried granules?

A- Yes—Baikowski® provides ready-to-use slurries and spray-dried alumina, and can adapt key parameters to your process needs.

Q- Can Baikowski® customize alumina for my process?

A- Yes—PSD, specific surface area, morphology, phase ratio, and final form (powder/slurry/spray-dried/RTP) can be customized.
